A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a mistake. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited bulk messages, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a few functions, but it’s really intuitive, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires only one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be enumerated in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll just have to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel that comes with every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will permit you to create a catch-all mailbox easily even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox that you have set up using your domains in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you wish to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you don’t need the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
